At Forest Grove, we are excited to be just 1 of 7 Burnaby Elementary schools who are part of our district’s Sustainability Pilot Project.
All Burnaby secondary schools are part of this coordinated recycling system as well.
Did you know that 51% of our waste that goes into the garbage is organic material that can be composted? When these food scraps and food soiled paper go into the garbage, they are sent to landfills where they break down to create a potent greenhouse gas called methane.
As we try to reduce our greenhouse has emissions 40% by 2030, one important step is separating our waste carefully.
New Hallway Stations

At Forest Grove we are lucky to have 2 student led Sustainability initiatives. They are partnering in the new year to support our community in collecting & recycling hard to recyclables like light bulbs, batteries, dry markers & pens, plastic toothbrushes, and soft plastics.
